A couple of weeks ago, we issued an invitation to help us out. That invitation is for this Friday when CALMC will doing some strategic planning. It’s been a long time since we last did anything like that so we’re long overdue.
We’re going to be looking at some goals for the organization since things have changed over the last couple of years.
We will be looking at our mission which has always been to promote positive relations in the work environment whether it is a union environment or non-union environment. The original mission talked about the Columbus, central Ohio area but maybe we want to expand the geographical area. It also may be we will decide to do new programming or services. In addition, the overall board and membership structure of CALMC will be addressed.
The world is somewhat different but unfortunately, the divisive attitudes have come back, or never left, and it’s just as important today that we continue to do what we set out to do many years ago and that is to bring people together and build relationships to resolve workplace issues. What has changed is how we go about that. Maybe we’re more technology driven and we at CALMC need to do a better job of adapting. Maybe we need to try and deliver services in a quicker amount of time since time seems to be a precious commodity these days. Whatever it might be, we want to change and make it adaptable to the needs and wants of those who use our services or will use our services.
If you have an idea for us or like something we are already doing and want us to continue it, let us know. You can post it on our Facebook page or email us at calmc.org We will let you know on our next blog what we decided! Thanks for your continued interest and don’t forget to visit us on Facebook and on LinkedIn for other pertinent workplace info!
Also, on Facebook, I’ve put a puzzle out there that’s been around but has some significant meaning to what goes on in today’s world. Check it out and post what you see and your thoughts. Next week I do another puzzle so remember to look at the Facebook page!
