I read another article this week about employee engagement. Once again, employee engagement levels are at an all time low.
The results of a Gallup Poll survey not only found 71% of workers are not engaged in their work, it also reported 19% are “actively disengaged.”
World-class organizations have employees who are actively involved in achieving the vision of the organization and delivering a high level of customer service.
How engaged are employees where you work? If it is not as strong as it should be, making a change will require a positive effort by management and the committed involvement of employees.
You can not just talk about trying to increase involvement, you have to do it. That means actively engaging employees as partners in improving the workplace with a real voice in determining how best to achieve the vision.
It’s not easy to do. There may even be initial resistance, especially in organizations that have not been open to employee involvement. It may take some help to get started, but the effort will be worth it.
